Davy Lowston

'Davy Lowston' 125MB 2:52 min

Oh me name is Davy Lowston, I did seal, I did seal
Me name is Davy Lowston, I did seal
Oh, me men and I were lost,
and our very lives it cost,
We did seal, we did seal, we did seal

We were set down in Open Bay, were set down, were set down
We were set down in Open Bay, were set down
We were left, we gallant men, nevermore to sail again,
Nevermore, nevermore, nevermore

Our captain John McGraw, he set sail, he set sail
Oh, yes, for old Port Stanley, he set sail
"I'll return, men, without fail", but she foundered in a gale,
And went down, and went down and went down

Come all you lads who venture far from home, far from home
Come all you lads who venture far from home
Where the icebergs tower high,
That's a pitiful place to die,
Never seal, never seal, never seal

In the Spring of 2003 I started making tiny QuickTime movies, as a kind of moving image dream diary.
This quickly became a major focus of my work & I have made at least two or three every month since.
In 2006 I arranged them in their current, semi-chronological, format (everything from April 2003 - Dec 2005 appears in the first four months of 2006).

All the movies, new & old, still live in the same folder & can be accessed from there too.
You may freely download & remix any of them, though I would appreciate a credit.
Where credits are due to others for material I have appropriated or remixed, or for performances, I will include a note with the posts here.
All music, except where otherwise stated, is by me.

I hope you like the movies, though of course I will continue to make & post them whether you do or not (but my thanks for looking!).
If you're interested enough you can read more about them here, here, here & here.
